2nd Generation Hits the Road In Full-Time MinistryGroup’s Current Single – “Feel the Joy” – Sees Tremendous Success at Southern Gospel Radio KANSAS CITY, Mo. – 2nd Generation, effective immediately, will be hitting the road in full-time ministry. The up-and-coming trio started traveling part-time in 2005 and were soon doing between 120 and 150 dates a year. Brenda Denney of 2nd Generation said, “God has blessed us and has opened many doors. We would head out on a Friday and be home for work on Monday at 8:00 a.m. We love what God has called us to do. There have been many Sunday nights that we would come rolling in at 2:00 a.m., and we would all say that we wished that we could just keep going down the road.” She continued, “When you know that you know that you are called to do something, you love it, you enjoy it, you can do the crazy hours and still want to continue going. God has been dealing with the group for about two years to go full-time. I will be the first to say that it is hard to step out in faith, but 2nd Generation heard a sermon a couple of years ago about having ‘Extravagant Faith’ and how sometimes you feel like a trapeze artist and you are hanging onto two bars at the same time, and you have to turn loose of one to get where you are going. That is where 2nd Generation has been.” “Elaine and I have been hanging onto our jobs,” mentioned Brenda, “having faith in them for our provisions. You get comfortable knowing that you are secure in your job. You have income, insurance, benefits, etc. Well, as we have all seen, there is no one that is secure in any job in our country right now, but we are secure in Jesus Christ, and I do know that he will supply all of our needs. He is our provider! In November, I resigned from my position as a Real Estate Broker. I gave up the salary and benefits and on that day placed all trust in God.” After much prayer, Brenda and her sister Elaine Parks felt like God was telling them to pursue full-time ministry and leave their full-time jobs. “Elaine spent much time in prayer about her job, and in March 2009, she called me and said that God was really dealing with her about her job,” told Brenda. “I told her to keep praying and she would know when it was time. In April, she said that she had been praying, and she gave it to God saying ‘Ok God, if you want us full time I need you to speak loud and clear to me’. About two weeks ago, Elaine was at work and had returned from lunch to find her supervisor along with HR in her office. They proceeded to tell her that the bank was going to be laying off 10% of the staff and she was one that was going to be laid off. Elaine was so excited and said, ‘Great!” They looked at her and asked if she was ok and she replied ‘yes I am’. She told them that she had been praying about it and this was a ‘God deal!" Third member of the group Jimmy Hoskins (who bring his wife Sharon along on all ministry trips) is excited about what is ahead. Jimmy said, “It is time to go. If we don't obey the call how can we stand before God on judgement day and hear Him say, ‘Well Done Thy Good & Faithful Servant’. 2nd Generation wants to do everything we can to make sure that we do not leave behind any unfinished task.” Individuals interested in booking this full-time Christian ministry can go to 2nd Generation’s website at http://www.2ndgenerationministries.com . 2nd Generation’s current single, “Feel the Joy,” has been doing exceptionally well at Southern Gospel radio. “Feel the Joy” just broke the Top 20 on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart this week – charting at #20.
