2nd Generation Scores First Top 40 Hit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – 2nd Generation’s debut single from the latest recording, “I See a City”, has become the popular trio’s first Top 40 hit.

The trio’s song debuted at #38 on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart a couple weeks ago before re-entering the chart this week at #40.

“We are so excited that radio and fans have enjoyed the song so much,” mentioned Brenda Denney of 2nd Generation.  “This song gets such a great reception at concerts and ministry events.  We have had high hopes for it at radio.”

In addition, “I See a City” is currently sitting at #40 on the GospelMusicTimes.com Top 40 Fan Chart – the Southern Gospel industry’s only chart based solely on the votes of the fans.

“We have to say a big ‘Thank You’ to our fans for helping us to get this recognition,” mentioned Elaine Parks of 2nd Generation.  “We appreciate the help you are to us through your prayers and support.”

The single is the title cut from 2nd Generation’s sophomore album, I See a City.  The song was written by award-winning singer/songwriter Gerald Crabb.  The song is being promoted to Southern Gospel radio through the Rick Hendrix Company.  “I See a City” is available on Rick Hendrix Company Compilation 60, Cut #3.

I See a City was produced by award-winning songwriter Gerald Crabb for Premier Crabb Productions.  The up-and-coming trio recorded vocals at the end of February in Hendersonville, Tennessee at Daywind Studio A.

The new recording features some of Nashville’s most prized studio musicians such as Jeremy Medkiff, Gary Prim, Dan Needham, Adam Crabb, and more.  I See a City was engineered by Justin Kropf and was mixed by Trey Corley.  The new album features a mix of new material and older songs that have played a major influence in the group.

I See a City is the follow-up to the group’s break-out album, Who Wants to Praise the Lord?  That album spawned off the hit singles “Hanging On a Nail”, “When He Chose Me”, and the group’s first Top 80 hit “Trouble Me No More.”  I See a City is available to purchase at concerts and other events.
